It is not very easy to find persons of Maurice’s caliber and dedication. I am speaking from my own experience of being a student of Holy Cross when he was the Provincial Superior. He was/is not a person who would just forget you after his term is over, or after he is transferred to a different ministry/location. Though he moved from place to place, faithfully doing his assigned tasks, his core personality attracted and still attracts many people to him. His smiling nature, availability and commitment to his ministry speak volumes of his faith, even more than a movement from Moodubelle, Katapadi, Bangalore or USA. Being the provincial for 9 years at a crucial juncture of the history of the Province is easier said than done. My wish for Fr. Maurice is that he continue to be a holy priest, and remain true to his religious vocation and show the compassionate face of God to all those who come into his life.
