This bridge was designed by Mr. Premanand Shenoy - Department of Civil Engg, KREC Surathkal(NITK). I was studying my second year in KREC that time. This bridge was completed in only 10 days during our Annual NCC training camp in Kemmannu and all the carpentry work is done by me.

If every shop keeper and the residents keep their yard clean (Many do) by taking care of the disposals and the garbage, it will attribute to a good landscaping. It is a noble sight of peoples participation to acknowldge the graces received through St Antony. This holy message would help revivie the spiritual life of every christian and and gain strength and encouragemnt to those who have worked for it in devoute spirit. St Aantony Bless all who have fervently took part in the celebrations at Kuntalnagar. I congratulate the Parish priest and the team for the excellent preparations to glorify God in the name of the Fest.

What an incredible find, this looks like Pristis microdon, the largetooth sawfish, so incredibly rare that it is classified as Critically Endangered to Extinction by the IUCN. This animal was obviously the size to be mature. It would have been good to know if it s a female or male and if female, did it have young (pups) and if so how many and what size. Any information of this type is extremely helpful to better understand the biology of this rare animal. Definitely worth keeping the saw and taking a skin sample placed in alcohol for future population studies!

Sawfish are listed under India s Wildlife Protection Act and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. International Trade in the fins and other parts of this species is banned. Stricter enforcement of protections and education of fishing communities are needed to improve the outlook for this critically endangered group of animals.

I dont think the Kerala govt or other authorities would come up to reveal the truth behind the makara jyothi.The Governments of the neibouring states viz Tamilnadu, karnataka and Andra Pradesh should educate their devotees.

I recollect our experience when we were studying the Belle High School. Every one had in twos thousands of baskets of mud from the mund in front of the School building before passing out SSLC. Today there is abeautiful ground to play with the sweatings of hundred of students. Today Belle is great and bellevision is also great because of past labour and present efforts.
There is not reason to grumble at the corrupt politicians so far as we donot stop bribing-giving them extra money for the job they do. It is those who pay more breed the corrupt.

Hemphil, instead of desperately criticizing one elected lady all the time, analyze...was it any better previous years? Why are you blessing another side all the time which did no better! Was it not ugly for several years? New president has not even completed one year! May be there are obstacles! Give them some time as you had big patience for the previous team! Go after the corrupt people rather than ......
I think there is no simple permanent solution for the above problem. I feel the root cause is terrain where sediment settling occurs during rainy season like a pool. We need a scientific system which felicitates surface water drainage channels. For sure budget for this is beyond the punchayath limit. You and me along with Belle people and the Panchyath should urge higher authorities ( MP/MLA’s) without keeping any political party affiliation. Moodubelle has lot of intelligent Engineers. They too should provide some practical solutions. Otherwise one day of the every year we have to argue on this subject.
