Hats off Mangalore Konkans for lovely day outing with such disciplined, well organized Sports day, you have taken care of each and every corner of the day including Ambulance and First Aid Service, qualified referees and your dedicated sports team committee. As 47 Plus 2 events you have carried out in well synchronized manner, there is no any conflict any where fore seen. Free lunch for such huge audience and participants made me to think that you people are also generous to give back to the public. This is fore seen in very few associations in the UAE. Even though couldn’t took part in any sports, I have visited the venue just to have quick glance but your well planned and organised sports day made me to stay till the last victory ceremony of tug war team.I salute Mr. James Mendonsa President and all Mangalore Kinkan Team. Wow...Nice pics. Beautiful coverage. It was a very nice picnic. For the first time I was with my Parishoners for the picnic. All very well organised. MC was very good, well organised games,Godwin was super help with the MC to organise the games. Reshma..the President was too good in encouraging children and all the people to participate in games.
All the games were good.

Food and snacks were also good and all enjoyed.

A big Thank to my Parishoers for arranging such a good picnic. I am sure all enjoyed.

its happend after long waiting...!

It is indeed very sad to know the passing away of our dear Rev. Fr. J.P. Tauro.

Honestly I have never seen the priest like him as I too was closely associated with him since he arrived in Pangla many years ago and if today, we have several educational institutions are running successfully, it is because of him and it is evident to see all The Tauro Block for all who pass through our parish to/from Udupi.

His contribution to the betterment of people is immense and immeasurable and he worked day and night for common people. He never went to accumulate money or property but had a great vision for the people of every parish he went and served and no one ever will forget Fr. Tauro for his noble deeds. Today i feel very sad that he is no more and May Almighty God grant him eternal rest. He has worked tirelessly for the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion. A great priest missed by all. Luckily I had the opportunity to meet him last October at Viyani Home and promised him to visit again but God has His own ways as He wanted him to relieve of his pains and sufferings and took with Him to enjoy the eternal peace.. May his soul rest in peace.

It is a very sad news that REv. Fr. J.P.Tauro has passed away . I and my family condole the death of this great and noble Priest who was down to earth for the poor and a true religious pious and a noble priest, who tried to follow the foot prints of JESUS, as we now realise. He is a model for those like to know him intimately. Fr. J.P.Tauro laid the foundation for a strong Parish at Udupi in the growth and development of Udupi church and lived truely as a catholic Priest. We will never find another of his caliber and kind natured priest for a long time. May his soul Rest in Peace.

The 4 poems in this issue of Suvaad are different and are of very high caliber. Baptist poem reminded the people back home while Nikita explains what she wants from her friend. Godwin and Sannus wordings and potetic style is something to cherish. I never read such beautiful poems in Suvaad. Dr.Dorbert Lobos article is the true recording of Belle for the past 30 years. Really I feel sorry to say that I missed a great opportunity to watch this cultural/talent show though I am a great admirer of Yakshagana.I was told that the show was worth watching and my personal opinion if possible we all should support by attending this type of cultural programmes in large numbers.Great Job - All the best for the organizers.

Dear John, the creation of Failaka Island as a Heritage site was only mentioned later in 2012, not in the years in between when we had ministers visiting the island. For your information when I was GM I was accepted onto a heritage site with which we had a great deal of success. With the best of meanings to Ahmed Al Tarreh after being on the island for 8 years and meeting and accommodating all the delegations who visited the island I do not think that at the present time Failaka has any hope of becoming a World Heritage Site, its is just pie in the sky and I will personally apologise to Mr Al Tarreh if it happens. How many times has he visited the island?

I am humbled in gold medallist Sunita's achievement, because the able-bodied majority of Indians hardly make it to Olympics or international sports arena. However, the apathy of youth and sports department indeed pushes one to despair, when real talent shines and no help coming from governmental agencies. The genuine talent has to be recognized in free India because every Indian gets the credit in Sunita's achievement. Hope the attitude changes to better in nurturing budding sportsmen and sportswomen regardless of differently-abled or general alike in the nation.

India had sent a contingent of 79 which included 58 athletes and the rest officials (ref. PTI report dated 25th Jan 2013). For the first time Indian Floor Hocky Womens Team is contesting and it is heartening to note that the team has won the gold as reported by BV. In this team there is a girl from Gujarat also named Maya Devipujak who hails from one of the slums of Gujarat near Mehsana railway track. Recognition comes for these athletes only if the media highlight their achievements and the local representatives without any political or religious bias take up thier cause with the state adminitration which in turn will take it up at the national level.
