Construction of railway underpass cuts-of access to Vijayanagar; MLA Lobo visits Padil

Mangaluru, 26 Apr 2017: MLA J R Lobo visited the ongoing construction of railway underpass at Padil, here, on Tuesday, April 25, to address the grievances of local residents of Vijayanagara, as the major portion of access road was used for the purpose of underpass.

 

MLA Lobo explored on the possibility of acquiring 10 feet wide plain land owned by a doctor in the vicinity that would suffice to lay the access road along with a few feet space left by the construction work.

 

 

He held talks with the doctor who sought a few days to consult his family to let 10 feet land in this regard.

 

The mayor Kavita Sanil, KSRTC director T K Sudhir, municipal commissioner Mohammed Nazeer, municipal engineer Dharmaraj, municipal steering Committee president Abdul Rauf and others were present.   

 

It may be recalled that the former union railway minister Sadananda Gowda had approved the proposal of constructing underpass at the level crossing that was causing hardship to road users in the thickly populated locality.
