District Admin orders closure of illegal mining on state-owned land at Barimar

Bantwal, 14 Jan 2017: The district administration issued an ultimatum of 10-day to an individual who was illegally mining laterite stones in state-owned land near Mahamayi temple, at the limits of Barimar village, near here, on Friday, January 13.

 

 

The assistant commissioner Renuka Prasad visited the spot, here on Friday morning, based on the complaint of local resident Maxim Sequeira and instructed the revenue department to submit the follow up report in this regard.

 

A certain Poovappa Poojary was extracting laterite boulders by mining in state-owned land that was causing both air and noise pollution in the neighborhood.

 

The mining department official Girish Mohan, revenue inspector Rama K, village accountant Basappa, taluk panchayat staff Sadasiva were present.
