Udupi: UPCL recognized for social responsibility programme

Udupi, 22 Aug 2016: Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPL) owned by Adani Group was recognized for their social responsibility programmes including promoting rural games and cultural activities during Independence Day Cup Pro Kabaddi Tournament – 2016 held in Mangaluru that was jointly organized by Sports Promoters Club, Mangaluru and International Bunts Welfare Trust recently.

 

The state forests and DK district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai felicitated UPCL chief executive officer Kishore Alva during Independence Cup Pro Kabaddi Tournament that was held during I-Day celebrations at Nehru maidan, Mangaluru.

 

 

Sports Promoters Club president A Sadanand Shetty lauded the social responsibility programmes including promoting rural games and cultural shows by UPCL.

 

UPCL CEO Kishore Alva thanked both Sports Promoters Club and International Bunts Welfare Trust in recognizing UPCL’s contribution to the society. He also said that he would get approval from Board of Directors to offer employment opportunities to local athletes.

 

Mangaluru mayor M Harinat, Karnataka Bank PRO Srinivas Deshpande, DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Sasidar Shetty of Sports Promoters Club, Rajgopal Rai, Purushottam Poojary, Kadri Navaneet Shetty were present on the occasion.
