Mangaluru, 19 May 2016: The voluntary bandh called by the Netravati Rakshana Samyukta Samiti against the Yettinahole Project on Thursday has brought the city to a halt.

Vehicular movement has come to a standstill; however, so far the bandh has been peaceful except for a few untoward incidents reported. It is said that a tyre was burnt at Pumpwell, but it is yet to be confirmed whether the incident was related to the bandh. Commercial establishments have also failed to open.

Several police personnel have been stationed in the city.

More details are awaited.
