Karkala: Youngster drowns in Shambavi River at Mundkoor

Karkala, 16 May 2016: A youngster who had gone for swim along with his 3 friends into Shambavi river at Mundkoor, near here was drowned on Sunday May 15.

 

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old Pradeep, a resident of Ulepady, near here. He was the fourth son of Antappa Naik. He had just completed a diploma course with Nitte Engineering College, near here and was in a look out for job.

 

 

He had gone for swim along with his 3 friends on Sunday afternoon. The locals are finding it difficult to believe, how Pradeep who knew swimming well was drowned. The locals retrieved his body and taken to nearby doctor at his home. The doctor pronounced Pradeep had already breathed his last already. 

 

Karkala rural police registered a case in this regard and are investigating.

 

As a co-incidence, a student of Renjaguttu, near Mundkoor, here was drowned in the same river on May 15 afternoon. Pradeep also drowned on the same day.
