​Two shops gutted in fire at Manipal

Manipal, 22 Jun 2015: Two shops were gutted following a major short circuit in Manipal on Monday, June 22.

 

According to the sources, refrigeration and AC repair shop located in a building owned by Ravindra Pai caught fire which immediately spread to the neighbouring Suman Travels shop and Karnataka Bank ATM kiosk. However, no casualty was reported.

 

 

The owner of the building blamed the late arrival of fire brigade as major reason behind spreading of fire. It took at least an hour for fire fighters to douse the flames completely.

 

MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who visited the incident spot took a stock of the situation.

 

A total loss of Rs 15 lac has been reported in the incident. A case has been registered in Manipal Police Station and investigations are on.
