Udupi: MSW Students of St. Mary’s College organize workshop at Maria Niwas Convent

Udupi, 21 Mar 2015: The students of the Post Graduate Social Work of St. Mary’s College, Shirva organized a workshop at Maria Niwas Convent, Kalattur, Shirva on Saturday, 21 March 2015 as part of the Women’s Day celebration. The programme was presided over by Sr. Rita Fernandes, Superior of the Maria Niwas Convent. The workshop was inaugurated by Sr. Gemma convener of Women’s Self Help Group. Prof. Vignes Holla of the PG Social Work Department and Mrs. Vasanthi and Mrs. Pramila, Conveners of Women’s Self Help Groups were the guest of honour.

 

 

The Workshop proceedings were conducted by Miss Prajna, student of PG Social Work, St. Mary’s College, Shirva. Besides providing information about empowering women through the self help activities, the women were also advised to develop self confidence and self reliance through various activities.
