Udupi: Self Help book to Girls authored by Dr Bhavanishankar released

Udupi, 18 Jan 2015: The book on counselling to girls authored by N Bhavanishankar, litterateur and Kannada lecturer of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here was released during a simple function at the College here recently.

Professor Dr Niketana of Government First Grade College PG department after releasing the book said that it has all the scientific info about menstruation, the care to be taken by parents about their girl children, the responsibility to wade safely through prime youth, the stages of conception, phases of foetus growth, cruelty to unborn owing to abortion. It’s a handbook to every girl, said Dr Niketana.

 

The senior lecturer Dr Padmanabha Bhat said that the book sheds light on how to take the parents into confidence in case of inter-caste and love marriages, extremes of promiscuity, the recent enactment of laws on rape etc.

The College principal Professor V N Rajan said that it’s a useful book for girls who are at crossroads and also for parents.
