Man kills lover, commits suicide in Padubidri

Padubidri, 17 Dec 2014: A 40-year-old man who allegedly murdered his lover, committed suicide by hanging himself, near Padubidri on Tuesday late night.

 

The deceased are Naveen Devadiga and his lover Tara Devadiga (38). It is said that Naveen who was separated from his wife wanted to marry Tara who was a widow.

 

Naveen had met Tara’s parents at her house recently expressing his wish to marry her. But, his proposal was turned down by Tara’s parents who also warned him to maintain distance from Tara.

 

On the pretext of meeting, Naveen invited Tara to a secluded place and allegedly slit her throat. He later hanged himself. A death note has also been recovered from Naveen’s pocket.

 

Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad, Additional Superintendent of Police Santhosh Kumar and other police officials visited the crime spot.

 

Padubidri police have registered a case.
