Konkani Sahitya Sammelan/Samskrutika Mela on Dec 20

Mangaluru, Dec 16, 2014: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy will be hosting Konkani Sahitya Sammelan – 2014 at district Scouts and Guides auditorium, Lalbagh, here on Saturday December 20 from 9.00am to 4.00pm.

 

The renowned Kannada litterateur – Nrapatunga Award recipient Kum Veerabhadrappa will inaugurate the Sammelan here on Saturday December 20 at 9.30am.

 

The veteran Konkani litterateur Edwin Netto will chair the Sammelan on the occasion. Dharwad – Karnataka University Associate Profesor Dr Shobha Nilavar will be the guest of honor.

 

Konkani 1008-page novel, ‘Unya Bhavadtachen,’ authored by Konkani renowned litterateur Edwin J F D’Souza and ‘Ayeracho Book,’ poetry book authored by Andrew K D’Cunha will be released on the same occasion.

 

 

Alwyn Danti Pernal will present paper on Konkani literature post millennium and Shakuntala R Kini will present paper on impact of globalization on Konkani culture during Jo Sa Alvares Seminar – 2014.  Dr Shivaram Kamat will moderate the seminar. 

 

Professor Xavier D’Souza will deliver paper on Konkani studies and Fr Francis Rodrigues will deliver paper on Media and Konkani during M V Kamath seminar. Dr Mohan Pai will moderate the seminar.

 

A poets’ session will be held at the chairmanship of Gerry Rasquinha on Saturday at 2.00pm. The poets CGS Taccode, Dr Nagesh Kumar G Rao, Vincy Pinto Angelore, Mahesh Nayak, Walter Dantis, Geeta Kini, Eric Soans, Guru Baliga and Felcy Lobo will partake in the poets’ session.  

 

Konkani Samskrutika Mela

 

A mega procession Konkani folklore will be begin at 4.00pm from district Scouts and Guides auditorium, covering Lady Hill roundabout, passing in front of municipal headquarter where the office of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy is located and conclude at Scouts and Guides auditorium at 5.30pm.

 

Mangalore bishop Dr Aloysius P D’Souza will preside the stage programme.

 

The district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai and Moodbidri – Alvas Education Foundation chairman Mohan Alva will be the chief guests of the occasion.

 

Pradeep G Pai, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza and bollywood movie director Lawrence D’Souza will be the guests of honor.

 

Konkani Darshan – Konkani music, dance and folklore will be presented by the students of Konkani Clubs of Rosario PU College and Padua PU College, students of Nrutya Vidyanilaya – Kadri, Konkani groups of Karvi, Siddi, Kudmi, Gawli, Daldi and Navayati accompanied by brass band. Muralidar Kamath and group will present musical concert as part of Samskrutika Mela.

 

The distinguished Konkani achievers will be felicitated on the same occasion. Konkani calendar that was brought out by Konkani Academy and its resigned website will be launched during the programme.

 

The teachers of mother tongue Konkani in Dakshina Kannada district were allowed to partake as representatives with OOD facility approved by deputy director of public instruction. The teachers of other district are also entitled for this facility. The representatives will be given travelling allowances and food facility.
