Mangaluru: Advanced Tulu script - Taulava 2.0’ launched

Mangaluru, Dec 12, 2014: Tulu is one of Adi Dravidian language as claimed by the historians. Meanwhile, at the sideline of Vishwa Tuluvere Parba - 2014, the launching of advanced Tulu script - Taulava 2.0 gets its due significance as historical event, said script developer Praveen Raj S Rao.

 

 

Addressing media persons here on Thursday December 11, Praveen said that its upgraded version of Taulava 1.0 unveiled during 2009. The advanced script works with Nudi’ keyboard for the benefit of the users. He further said, ‘Several software developers along with linguistic expert Venkataraj Punichintaya helped us to modify the script as per modern requirements. This works with Windows as well,’ said Praveen.

 

‘Since Tulu has not faced significant changes as that of Kannada in the recent past time, we have omitted a few of alphabets which were not relevant for the times,’ said Praveen.

 

A booklet of the datasheet of the new script was also released on the occasion.
