Car collides with bus, 1 dead, 5 injured

Mangaluru, 22 Nov 2014: A speeding car in a bid to overtake hit the bus from rear on Mangaluru to Udupi NH 66 near NITK Hostel, Suratkal, here on Saturday November 22.

 

The deceased has been identified as Mohamed Hasil, son of Ibrahim, resident of Kudroli here.  Mohammed Hasil was the student of St Aloysius Pre-University College, here.

 

The other 5 injured has been identified as Mohammed Rizwan, Munaf, Nihal, Sayyedsha and Afridi.  All of them are said to be minors and are students of same College.

 

 

It’s learned that Mohammed Rizwan was driving the car, when he hit the rear of private bus plying towards Udupi. This stretch of highway has exclusive 2 lanes for one-way traffic on either side.

 

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and their condition is said to be critical.

 

Mangalore north traffic police registered a case in this regard.
