Mangalore: Customs seize gold worth Rs 6.13 lac at MIA

Mangalore, 22 Oct 2014: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport seized 224.750 grams of gold on Wednesday October 22, valued at Rs 6.13 lac, in the form of silver color paint coated wires concealed in the beadings portion around the borders and edges of a black colored laptop bag carried by a passenger who arrived from Dubai.

 

 

The passenger twenty-five-year-old Shafeeq Chakli, is a resident of Mogar House, Mogralputhur Post, House Number 151/2/178, Kasargod district, Kerala, who arrived at Mangalore International Airport by Jet Airways flight number 9W531 from Dubai on Wednesday October 22 at about 7.30am.

 

Further investigation is under way.
