Udupi: Jnanaganga P U College celebrates Independence Day

Udupi, 16 Aug 2014: Jnanaganga P U College celebrated Independence Day with various programmes. In the morning the College Principal hoisted the flag and advised the students to work hard and earn money instead of adopting unfair means to do the same.
After this, the students, along with the lecturers, cleaned the college premises, drawing inspiration from the Prime Minister’s talk regarding cleaning one’s village as the first step towards “Swachcha Bharath”.
The students convened again at 11 o’clock for the distribution of the 14th Endowment Scholarship of G.I .E.C.Co. Op. Society along with College’s student’s endowment scholarships. The program was presided by Mr.Suresh Shetty, President of College Management Committee. The Chief Guests Mr. Dayanada Shetty, Principal M.P.M.C Manipal, Mr. K Raghupathi Bhat, Ex. M.L.A, Mr.Umesh Naik, Vice President of College management committee, were present on the dais. Guests were welcomed by Mr.Prabhakar K S , Secretary of the College committee.
Mr. U L Bhat ,the Principal read the list of benefited P U College students and Mrs.BharathiHande read the list of High school students , the dignitaries on the dais distributed the scholarships.
In his speech Mr.Raghupathi Bhat admired the environment of the college and advised the students to work hard and be a good citizen of India. Mr.Dayanda Shetty told that the best gift the students can give their teacher is getting good marks. In his presidential speech wished the students Happy Independence day.
The programme was compered by Dr Leena Naik, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Srinivas Bhat.
