Taluk-level Karate Championship inaugurated at Belman

Karkal, Jul 24, 2014 : At the joint auspices of Udupi ZP public instructions department, office of Karkal block education officer, Government Pre-University College - Belman, Karate competitions for both boys and girls between the age group of 14 years and 17 years was inaugurated at Government Pre-University College auditorium, Belman, near here on Tuesday July 22.

 

ZP member Supreet Shetty after inaugurating the Karate championship, here on Tuesday said that Karate is helpful to develop self confidence.  It also enhances mental agility and physical strength, perfect means of self defense. 

 

 

The school betterment council president Madhav Nayak presided the programme.

 

Belman – Government Pre-University College principal Dr B Janardhan Bhat, TP member Xavier D’Mello, the school betterment council member Satish Mada, retired teacher Tukaram Shetty, taluk physical education superintendent Babu Poojary, district Karate Association president Anand Devadiga, secretary Prabhakar Kundar were present on the occasion.

 

The school teacher Shanti Bhat welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.  The physical training (PT) instructor Alwyn Andrade proposed vote of thanks.
