Muscat: Mangalore-bound AI Express flight returns one hour after take-off

Muscat, 15 Apr 2014: Passengers of Air India Express flight from Muscat to Mangalore were in for some anxious moments on Sunday April 13 when flight developed a technical snag an hour after take-off and returned to Muscat.

 

Officials at Air India Muscat said that the flight took off at 2.15 pm and was in the air for about an hour. However, due to some technical issue, the flight returned to Muscat airport which was the nearest. Details of the exact technical glitch were not disclosed.

 

After the flight landed at Muscat airport the passengers were asked to deboard. They boarded the flight to Mangalore at 6 pm local time.

 

Officials said that one of the passengers who was travelling with his ailing mother refused to fly in the delayed flight and they were allowed to cancel their journey.

 

The rest of the passengers boarded the flight and landed safely in Mangalore.
