Mangalore: Youth jumps out of hospital, dies

 

Mangalore, 29 Jan 2014: A person who allegedly attempted at suicide by consuming poison on Monday, ended his life by jumping from the fourth floor of a hospital at Kodialbail here on Wednesday.

 

The deceased is identified as Latish (29) from Kotekar. The victim had consumed poison on Monday at a hotel later he had called his friend for help. He was admitted to district government Wenlock Hospital. Since his kin felt that he was not being given proper treatment, he was shifted to a private Hospital on Tuesday at 4am.

 

The complainant Narayan Poojary stated that the condition of Latish had improved and he was okay till Tuesday afternoon. He alleged that after the hospital staff administered an injection, he started acting as if though he had lost his mental balance. On Wednesday at 12 midnight Latish had broken the window glass of the ICU and at 1.30am he had allegedly jumped out of the window.

 

Poojary alleged that hospital staff’s negligence had resulted in the incident. The hospital authorities were not available for comments.
