Karkal: Children’s Day Celebrated with Students’ Dignitaries at Belman Parish School

Karkal, 14 Nov 2013: It’s customary that the specially invited guests, department officers, school correspondent, governing council members, elected representatives and teachers to be seated in the dias and deliver their speeches to the student audiences whether they like it or not.  It’s the usual practice that exists everywhere. 


 
Meanwhile, its during the Children’s Day celebrations that was jointly organized by St Joseph’s Kannada and English Medium Higher Primary School, Belman, near here on Thursday November 14, the students donned the role of PM, opposition party leader, presided by student’s leaders…!  The school teachers rendered the prayers, welcomed the guests, compered the programme, presented variety entertain shows etc.


 
The students were spared of carrying book-loads of school bags, no mandatory wearing of uniform.  Everyone arrived in different attires like a little movie star.  The teachers had tough time controlling the unruly students, whereas each student enjoyed a day of freedom bestowed on the occasion of Children’s Day.


 
The School head teacher Sr Monica welcomed the gathering of students.  They also presented flower bouquets to student dignitaries.

 


 
The School pupil leader Sumant Naik presided the function.


 
The School deputy pupil leader Shubhalaxmi, the students Vinisha D’Souza, Sharol Mascarenhas, Risha D’Souza, Vijay, Sahana Achaqrya, Jenita, Rolvin D’Silva, Nisha V Shetty, D Shreya, Triveni, Shawn were present on the dais.


 
The teacher B Pundalika Marate explained the significance of Children’s Day celebrations by moral stories. 


 
The teacher Lilly sang the wishes on Children’s Day celebrations.  The physical training teacher Harshendra Kumar conducted sports competitions.  The teacher Vincent compered the programme.  The English Medium School head teacher Janet D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.


 
The students were offered cold drinks and lunch with payasam on the occasion. 


 
The teachers Juliana Moras, Sr Usha Stella, Lavina Pinto, Divya, Gayatri Bhat, Ranjani Acharya, Sunanda Salian assisted in the programme.
