Mangalore, 30 May 2013 :  The state administration issued an order to ban the mechanized fishing in the coasts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts with effect from June 15 to August 10.

The fisheries boats can venture into sea from August 3 with a condition that they had to return with the fisheries stock and anchor at the ports only after August 10.  Meanwhile, the fishermen can fish on the shore or on rivulets using country boats and other boats fitted with 10 HP outboard engines.  The fishermen who violate the ban are liable to pay fines, stated the media release issued by fisheries deputy director.
