Hassan:H S Prakash expresses concern over Depleting water level in Hemavati Reservoir

Hassan, 19 May 2013: The water levels in Hemavati water reservoir is fast depleting and if this continues at this alarming rate, soon the water woes in the city will be aggravated beyond, local MLA H S Prakash expressed deep concern over the issue.

Addressing the media persons, here after visiting Hemavati reservoir, located in Goroor, here, on Thursday May 16, MLA Prakash said that the water woes in the city likely to aggravate in the coming days, since water stored in Hemavati reservoir is being released into KRS dam, in order to supply water to Bangalore, said MLA Prakash.

 

 

‘A proposal has been sent to state administration to release Rs 458 crore to extend the reservoir with a view of storing the water that could be estimated for the coming 20 years,’ said MLA Prakash.

MLA Prakash visited the water treatment plant along with municipal commissioner Nagabhushan, engineer Nagendra and water Board officers.
