Moodubelle: Nativity Feast 2012 celebration at St. Francis Xavier Ward I

Moodubelle, 10 Sep 2012: We are happy to announce that we have celebrated the Feast of the Nativity of Mother Mary (Monthi Festh) in three levels –First:  we joined the Parish Community,Second:Our own Families and Third: in our Ward(St. Francis Xevier Ward-I,)in the house of Mr.Joseph Lobo.

 

On 9th Sept,2012, Sunday,  at 12.00 pm, the members gathered in the house of  Mr. Joseph Lobo. The presence of  Rev Fr. Lancy Saldanha of Moodubelle Parish and Bethany Sisters, the Brothers from Assisi Nilaya along with their Director Fr. Maxim Pinto, enriched the meaning of  the celebration.

 

 

At the beginning, Mr. Albert Martis the leader(Gurkar) of the ward welcomed all. Then we began the celebration by saluting our divine Mother by offering our prayers and Flowers. By singing ‘Sokkod sangatha melya’, the children along with the elders, offered flowers to Mother Mary in front of Mother Mary’s Grotto, then the Word of God was proclaimed( Mother Mary’s Song of Praise,LUKE1:6 -56).

 

Fr. Lancy Saldanha explained the importance of Mother Mary in our daily lives as a beacon of hope in these days. Fr. Maxim Pinto explained to the people the importance of the unity among the Catholic Families, and to remain faithful to the teachings of Our holy Catholic Church.

 

In order to enroll all the members in the celebration, a few Games were conducted. The programme was compared by Mr.William Lobo. At the end all enjoyed the traditional meal prepared by the families of the ward as a symbol of their unity and love. By expressing our gratefulness to Mr. Joseph Lobo and his family, we looked our way back home with the sweet memories of a great Celebration.
