Kundapur: In a heavy heart, Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza bids adieu to his parishioners

Kundapur, 12 June 2012: Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza, parish priest of Kundapura church and the Dean of Kundapura Deanery who had rendered service to the church and Deanery for the last four years was accorded a hearty send off by the parishioners on Sunday, June 10, 2012.

 

At the outset of the send  off function, Mrs. Soni D’Costa, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council welcomed the gathering. Michel Braganza, the Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council read out the citation recalling the service rendered by Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza to the parish and Deanery  and presented it to him along with shawl. Principal of St. Mary’s Junior College, Fr. Pravin Amrit Martis offered garland and Sisters from the Carmel Convent  and Correspondent of St. Joseph’s Educational Institution honoured  Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza with flowers and fruits.

 

 

Replying to the hearty send off given by  the parishioners, Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza in an emotion filled voice said that he had honestly and sincerely served the people of Kundapur parish. He said that he had experienced the sorrows of the people. He also mentioned that from few parishioners he had to bear harsh words which he did patiently as Christ did in his life. He wished well to all the parishioners including those who insulted him and were uncharitable towards his work.

 

Except few disgruntled persons, may be two percent of the parishioners, a large number of people participated in the send off function. People were seen sobbing and wiping their tears as they bid good bye to Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza.
