Udupi, 05 May 2012: Trapped by the internet message that a lottery is won, a person from Udupi lost huge money. The person lost the money is Ammunje Panduranga Nayak, a resident of Gundibailu, Udupi. On 14th March he received a message from Coca Cola company Great Briton that he has won 10,00,000 GB Punds. Later on 22nd he was asked to send his Bio-data and accordingly Nayak sent his Bio-data to the company by email and also he trusted that company.

On 26th Nayak received a call to his mobile from Smith Goyre and asked him to send Rs. 25,000 to a certain Bank account so that the lottery amount can be sent to Delhi Airport and accordingly Nayak deposited the amount to that Bank account. From here the cheating game began which was not known to Nayak.

On 27th he was asked to send Rs. 40,000 for transferring the amount to RBI, on 28th Rs. 1 lakh for getting the RBI code, on 29th Rs. 2.5 lakh to get tax clearance, on 30th Rs. 3 lakhs to get anti terrorist certificate. On 3rd April Rs. 20,000 service tax, on 5th April Rs. 13,000 and on 7th Rs. 20,000 for flight charge, on 16th 10,000 for Police clearing, on 17th Rs. 10,000 for Police release were all have been deposited by Nayak to various Bank accounts exactly as per the calls he received.

On 18th when he was asked to deposit Rs. 15,000 for Documents of ministry of finance, Nayak told them that he does not have money at that time the person who called said ‘stupid’ to him and cut the line. After that Nayak waited but he never received any calls and then he realized that he got cheated.

Already Nayak has Rs. paid 8,00,300 to the accused. In this scam Nayak has received calls from Mutur Kent, Steve Walter, Smith Goyre and Robert Muller. As per they asked Nayak has deposited money to various Bank accounts. Nayak has now complained to the Udupi Police Station that these accused have cheated him and have asked the police to get his money back.

Udupi known as the district of intelligent people, it is not just Nayak who got trapped, there are many people who lost crores of rupees and have complained to the police. But since it is an international scam, no one who lost money has recovered it back. Now we will have to see what will happen in this case.
