Udupi: Annual Day celebrated in Marne Higher Primary School

Udupi, 11 January 2012: Annual Day was celebrated in the Marrne Higher Primary School on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 6.30 pm.  Lalaji R Mendon, MLA of Kaup Constituency presided over the programme. The guests of honour included Jayaprakash Hegde, former minister in the Karnataka Government, Hasan Shaikh Ahmed, President Manipura Grama Panchayat, Kudi Vasant Shetty, Headmaster of Shri Vishnumurthy High School, Kudi,  Marne Dr. Ramachandra Kamat, HOD Public Health Manipal University, Kanaradi Prakash Saralaya, CEO, Taal Technology, Bangalore,  Gurudas Bhandary, member of the Taluk Panchayat, Mrs. Baby H. Jathan, former President of Manipura Grama Panchayat, Kaurnakara Karera, President of School Development Committee, Devendra Nayak, Correspondent of the school, Krishna Naik B., present headmaster.

 

 

 

Devendra Nayak welcomed the guests, the headmaster of the school, Krisdhna Naik B read the report of the achievements of the school during the last year. On this occasion, the former Headmaster of the School, Dayananda Nayak was honoured  by Lalaji R Mendon. Speaking at the function, Dayananda Nayak said that the students of the school who had studies earlier have risen to high positions due to their higher education and ability. They should come forward to help the school where they had studied and promote the education among the less fortunate ones.

Prizes for academic, cultural and sports achievements were distributed by Hasan Shaikh Ahmed. The students presented variety entertainment programme. At 10 pm, Tulu drama “Barethinaaye Barethije” was presented.
