Udupi: Kalpana Chawla remembered by Nagarika Samiti

Udupi, 27 November 2011: Kalpana Chawla has shown that, even though one is from a rural area there is no limit for the achievement. She is a best example that the physical size and the family backgrounds are not a setback for the achievement, said Probationary Deputy Commissioner P.I. Vidya. She was speaking in a program remembering Kalpana Chawla on her 9th year death anniversary, Student Scholarship distribution and felicitation of the sports persons who were selected for the national level competitions.

 

 

The program was organized by Udupi District Nagarika Samiti in Girls Government P.U. College on Saturday. College Principal C. Suresh presided over the program. P.U. College Deputy Director Shindha S.S., Renu Jayaram – Managing Partner of Jayadeva Motors were present on the occasion as chief guests.

 

The sports persons selected for the national level competitions; Akshita and Kripashree of Volakadu School, Varun of Christian High School and Arunakala S. Rao who won Gold Medal in International level Senior Citizens running race were felicitated. 10 poor talented Science Division students from the local Colleges were given Scholarship.

 

Nagarika Samiti Chief Secretary Nityananda Volakadu welcomed the guests and gave introductory speech. Lecturer Nagaraja G.S. compeered the program. Physical Teacher Vishwanatha Bayari proposed vote of thanks.
