Udupi: ICYM Pangla is fully geared up for the Mega Inter-Parish Singing Competition this Sunday

Shankerpura/Pangla:  23 Oct 2015: As planned ICYM Pangala Unit is fully geared up for the mega Inter-Parish Singing Competition to be held on Sunday the 25th October 2015 at 2.00pm on diocesan level.

 

The Parish Priest of Kalatur Parish Rev. Fr. Francis Cornelio will be the Chief Guest at the valedictory function and distribute the trophies to the winners. Fr. Francis Cornelio is a great composer of many konkani devotional hymns and has been coordinating with one of the konkani well-known singer Melwin Paris and together they have brought out dozens of konkani devotional CDs. Fr. Francis is a well know lyricist, composer and a great musician and is the right person to inaugurate the mega Singing Competition.  One of his latest konkani CD is “ Tujem Rupnnem “ which contains melodious devotional hymns.

 

The response for the competition is over-whelming and quite a large number of singers from most of the parishes of Udupi Diocese have enrolled for the mega event.

 

 

ICYM Pangala is holding this event for the 12th year successfully and all preparation is in place and even the exiting and wonderfully designed trophies are ready for the winners. There are three specially designed trophies for overall Championships i.e. First, Second and Third Place.  In addition many trophies for each category such as solo, duet and group in each category all to be won by singers along with the certificates to be issued for every winner in addition to the trophies.

 

A large number of singers, supporters, well-wishers and musicians are expected to attend this mega event. The members of ICYM Pangla unit are all geared up and ready for the mega event and expecting a large number of audience.

 

ICYM members request every-one to come well in time so that the event can be held successfully and everyone will get the chance to compete and win loads of prizes and not even win but enjoy melodious singing by golden voices of singers from all over Udupi Diocese.
