New Delhi, 19 Mar 2015: Protests against the death of IAS officer DK Ravi continued in Karnataka on Thursday with the demand for CBI probe going stronger.

In Bengaluru, activists of Akhil Baharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, the student wing of the BJP, clashed with police.

ABVP activists came out on the streets in large numbers demanding CBI probe into the death case.

Police resorted to lathicharge to rein in the protesters.

The BJP MLAs are scheduled to take out a protest march from Karnataka assembly to governor’s house.

The issue was also raised in the assembly leading to an uproar.

JD(S) leader and former chief minister Kumaraswamy said that they will request governor to convince the state govt to hand over the case to CBI.

There were reports of protest also from Tumakuru.

In the national capital, BJP MPs from Karnataka protested outside Parliament demanding a CBI probe into the death of the young IAS officer.

The BJP MPs slammed the Congress government in the state over the issue.

The protest by BJP MPs was organised near the Gandhi statue before the Parliament session began in the morning.

On Wednesday, a delegation of BJP MPs from Karnataka, led by chemical and fertiliser minister Ananth Kumar and law minister Sadananda Gowda, met home minister Rajnath Singh, demanding a CBI probe into the death of DK Ravi.

Thirty-five-year-old Ravi, additional commissioner of commercial taxes (Enforcement), was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room at his flat in Bangalore on Monday, with police suspecting it to be prima facie a case of suicide.
