Mumbai: St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association of Mira Road to Organize Konkani Utsav from Nov 16 t

Mumbai, Oct 22, 2013 : St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association of Mira Road parish launched the handbills, appeal forms and coupons for the upcoming Konkani Utsav, an event to promote Konkani art and culture among the Konkani speaking community of metro, here recently.

 
Konkani Utsav will be held for the first time in Mira Road parish from November 16 to November 17.

 

 
St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association of Mira Road president John Crasta, secretary Arun Noronha, treasurer Lawrence Mathias, cultural secretary Hilary D’Silva and member Francis Araunzo were present at the dais.

 
Well known Konkani playwright, director and theatre artiste comedian Francis Fernandes Cassia will preside the Konkani Utsav on the occasion.

 
Joy Paladka will be the chief co-ordinator of the mega event.

*  Display of the articles used by our fore fathers in their day   to day use.

•  Roce and wedding ceremony enactment (olden style)

•  Manglorean and Goan delicacies

•  Felicitation to Mumbai’s Konkani writers, actors, musicians and artistes etc.

•  Performance by famous Brass Band

•  Skits, jokes and performances by artist for different parts of Mumbai

•  Special attraction – procession in and around Mira road with colourful Konkani cultural troupe.
