Udupi: Ecosystem & Energy Conservation Programme Highlights Perils Awaiting Mankind by Reckless Dest

Udupi/M’belle, 09 Sep 2013: ISHRAE Mangalore Sub-chapter and Jnanganga PU College came together to conduct a programme related to Ecosystem and Energy Conservation on the 7th of September 2013. This programme was aimed at creating awareness about the importance of saving the environment.


The day started with an inauguration ceremony that was compeered by Ms. Smitha. The guests were welcomed by the principal, Sri. U L Bhat. Dr. Sridhar Bairy, Assistant Professor, Ayurvedic College, Udyavar, delivered the inaugural address, in which he spoke of bio diversity. He also brought out the resemblance between various vegetables and human organs. He also explained that we must conserve all plant and animal species on earth; else we humans will be inviting our own end. Ms. Divyashree proposed the vote of thanks after which several competitions were held.

 


The afternoon session started with Mr. Ragavendra Holla giving a speech about the significance of the day’s programme. His speech preceded the prize distribution ceremony which was compeered by Mr. Srinivas Bhat. The chief guest was Ms. Nirmala B, Headmistress, Government High School, Valakadu. Sri. Suresh Shetty, President, GIC, College Committee, was also present. The guests were welcomed by the principal, Sri. U L Bhat. The chief guest gave away the prizes and the president of ISHRAE Mangalore sub chapter, Sri. Naveen proposed the vote of thanks.
