Udupi, 03 Feb 2017: The human rights are birth rights that enable one to live with dignity. It’s manifested in our constitution. Everyone has the freedom to safeguard his/her rights within the framework of law for all. The responsibility lies in everyone to protect their rights, said district senior judge and chief judicial penal officer K Shivaram.
Shivaram was speaking after inaugurating an workshop on peoples’ awareness on human rights and legal info that was organized by Udupi district legal serves Authority and Udupi district Bar Association at St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here on Thursday, February 2.
Speaking on the occasion, Udupi district Bar Association president advocate K Dayanand said that legal awareness is essential for every citizen in civil society.
Fr Stany Tauro, correspondent of St Mary’s education institutions, Shirva, near here presided the programme.
The College principal Professor Rajan V N delivered the preliminary address. Indian Human Rights – Udupi district Committee president Inna Udayakumar Shetty welcomed the gathering. The students’ welfare officer Dr S Padmanabha Bhat proposed vote of thanks.
