Mangaluru: Tragedy strikes family at Ujjody; 3 persons electrocuted

Mangaluru, 29 Jan 2017: Three persons were electrocuted in a freak accident at Ujjody, here on Sunday, January 29 afternoon.

 

 

The deceased has been identified as fifty-five-year-old Valerian Lobo, his wife fifty-one-year-old Hesmi Lobo, residents of Ujjody and twenty-eight-year-old Sandeep, a native of Moodbidri.

 

Sandeep was plucking raw pepper from the twine by climbing on the ladder supporting a nearby coconut tree at courtyard of Valerian. Meanwhile, Sandeep lost the balance and fell on the live electricity cables along with the steel ladder. When Sandeep cried for help, Valerian unknowingly tried to push him without safety glouse, his wife also followed and all were electrocuted in helping each other.
