Bantwal: Teachings of Sage Valmiki in Ramayana is universal truth - G Alva

Bantwal, 16 Oct 2016: The teachings of contemporary Sage Valmiki in Ramayana is universal truth, but the mankind has not followed them it true sense for their spiritual enlightenment. The human has a heart but not humane, has a strong physique but no good health, we are living in the society filled with animosity, said Gangadhar Alva, principal of Thumbay PU College, here.

 

Alva was speaking during Valmiki Jayanti celebration that was organized jointly by Bantwal TP, town council and social welfare department at TP auditorium, B C Road, here on Saturday, October 15.

 

 

The urban educated in India are behaving like uncivilised persons. The rural folks are living harmoniously; as a result there has been a huge gap among the town-folks and villagers, added Alva. 

 

The town councilor Ramakrishna Alva after inaugurating the programme called on the oppressed classes to make better use of state facilities that are meant for their upliftment.

 

The deputy councilor Abbas Ali in his presidential address the citizen’s happiness is essential despite the progress in the country.  

 

TP social justice committee president Dhanalaxmi C Bangera, TP member Sanjeev Poojary, TP CEO Cyprian Miranda, Mohammed Nandarabettu, chief officer Sudhakar M H, Tahsildar Purandar Hegde and others were the chief guests of the occasion.

 

Social welfare superintendent Vinayakumari welcomed the gathering. State-run residential school headmaster Prasad proposed vote of thanks. Manju Vittal compered the programme.
