Mangaluru, 07 Dec 2014: The so called Kothi Rama known for his climbing skills - Jyoti Raj alias Kothi Rama set his personal record by climbing 80 meters tallest skyscraper of the city - Inland Windsor, located at Airport Road here on Sunday December 7. It’s his second successful try after Shalini Enclave building on PVS Kalakunj Road here.
Addressing the media persons, after the successful attempt here on Sunday, Kothi Rama said that the famous skyscraper of Dubai is his next goal. The 829.8 meters (2,722 feet) tall Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building in Dubai might seem a possible aim if the authorities in the United Arab Emirates give him the nod.
Speaking about his personal life, Kothi Rama said, ‘As an eighteen-year-old, I wanted to commit suicide, as I was burdened with struggles of life and miseries. People who saw me scale boulders with ease started applauding my effort not realizing that I was scaling it to jump down,’ said Kothi Rama.
‘I had successfully climbed TV Tower in Bengaluru which is about 23 floors. I have scaled taller structures like the boulder in Ramanagara which is about 1,200 feet,’ added Kothi Rama.
Set to turn 27-years on 15 August 2015, Jyoti is all thankful to promoters of Inland Windsor for having given him permission to climb the 80 meters (300 feet) tall building.
A prior permission was sought by In-Land Infrastructure Developers CMD Siraj Ahmed and Mangaluru city police before performing the act.
Earlier Raj who had climbed Chitradurga Fort and 830 feet deep Jog Falls, had hit the headlines in Mangaluru media circle by climbing 10-storeyed Shalini Enclave on PVS Kalakunj Road in December 2012.
He was later given a memento by Siraj Ahmed as a token of appreciation.
