Deeksha wins ‘Yede Tumbi Haduvenu’ 2nd time

Udupi, 25 June 2012: Deeksha Ramakrishna from Udupi and Amulya M from Mysore jointly won the first prize in the Challengers series singing contest ‘Yede Tumbi Haduvenu’, a musical reality show telecasted in ETV Kannada, anchored by Dr. S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. This is the second time she has won the best singer in this prestigious competition.

 


 
In a recently held programme in Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore, the winners of the final round were presented prizes by A. Subba Naidu, General Manager of ETV.  Senior Kannada actor Srinath was present as the chief guest of the competition.


Deeksha is learning Carnatic music from Vidwan Madur Balasubrahmanyam and light music from Sri Raghavendra Acharya of Manipal. On the academic side, she has passed II PUC with distinction this year.


 
She is the daughter of Vidushi Yasha Ramakrishna, director of ‘Hejje Gejje’ a dancing training organization and Ramakrishna Hegde. She has won state and national-level scholarships and several prizes in classical dance.
