Pune: MCA celebrates 22nd anniversary with spiritual awakening ahead of Lent

Pune, 15 Feb 2018: Mangalorean Catholic Association® Pune celebrated its 22nd anniversary at diocesan pastoral center, here, on Sunday, February 11.
After the hymn at 9.30am, their spiritual director Fr Abraham D’Souza SVD delivered homily on the significance of role of Christian families in the society. He also read out the Papal message of 2016 on the joys of family life.
Fr Dr Henry D’Almeida SJ spoke on how the gospel was shared with gentiles’.
Confessions and adoration of Blessed Sacrament was held during the occasion.
Fr Vincent Saldanha of Gujarat diocese and Fr Raju Felix Crasta of Jamshedpur diocese were the confessors.
Fr Baptist Pais SVD, procurator of Divine Word Seminary, Pune concelebrated the Holy Mass in Konkani along with 3 clergies.
Fr Abraham delivered the homily.
The birthday of Fr Fernando D’Costa, director of seminary was celebrated by cutting the cake.
MCA founder president Aloysius Saldanha, president Patrick D’Souza, secretary Edna Rodrigues were present.
Fr Raju said grace before the meals, while Fr Baptist conveyed best wishes for MCA.
The convener of programme Bro Jaison Vaz proposed vote of thanks.
The fellowship meal of fish curry was shared by the gathering.
